Michelle L. Mehaffey, 40
Michelle Lynn Mehaffey, 40, of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away peacefully at the North East Medical Center, Margate, FL on November 28, 2008. She was born in Lancaster, PA to Thomas J. Mehaffey and cared for most of her life by Rose (Moore) Mehaffey, both of Lancaster.
Michelle loved cooking. She was a chef for her own personal catering business in Florida. She graduated from the Florida Culinary Institute, Division of New England Institute of Technology at Palm Beach. She lived in Florida the past 18 years.
Michelle was a cheerleader in junior high school and played field hockey for Conestoga Valley High School. She was a very warm and caring person. She helped a lot of people by cooking, feeding, cleaning, and being friends.
Surviving besides her parents is a daughter, Amber Philips of Dripping Springs, TX, two brothers Michael Mehaffey of East Petersburg and Brian Mehaffey of Lancaster, a nephew Chase Mehaffey of Lititz, and a grandmother Laura Moore of Manheim. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Kathryn (Rhoades) Mehaffey who passed away on May 27, 2008.
A Memorial Service will be held at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pk, Lititz, PA 717-560-5100 on Thursday December 18, 2008 at 7:30pm with Rev. David W. Peck, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church and Rev. Lynn A. Hade, Curate of St. James Episcopal Church. There will be a greeting time with the family from 6:30-7:30pm.
