Condolences to the Family

July 28, 2021

Mike was my first guitar teacher when we attended Penn Manor together in the early 80’s and he was probably one of the best music instructors I ever had. We connected at school as soon as the school year started and he would drive to my house in Quaker Hills and teach me everything he knew. One of the most generous, kind and talented friends I ever had and we sure laughed a lot. You made a difference in my life and you left us way too soon. You are missed Mike. Rest In Peace buddy.

Dear Kathy, Bill, Jana, and Family,
I was shocked, and deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I will always remember him as a caring and thoughtful family man, and a great husband, and  father. Although we hadn’t spent as much time together in recent years, it was just like old times when I would see Mike cheering on Mick at one of his basketball games. We would take a few moments to catch up, and Mike would always ask how I and my family were doing. I would ask him how the meat business was. His reply would be a positive response, and an ornery grin.
In this time of great sorrow, take some solace in knowing that you have a solid family, and a group of friends that cares about you a great deal. You’ll all be together again someday.
Sincerely,
Kevin M. Hirst

Dear Kathy and family,
it was truly a delight to know Mike and he will be greatly missed. We coached midget football together. His love of the game and excitement made the experience loads of fun for us all. Even though he was skilled and successful, he remained humble and gave the credit to the boys and his assistant coaches. It was truly an honor to know him. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Kathy,

I am deeply saddened of hearing of your family’s loss.  It has been years since I last had seen Mike.  We knew each other before you both met when I lived in Lancaster.  Absolutely one of the most positive and uplifting people I have ever had the pleasure to come into contact with!  I remember his hearty handshake and laugh…he made so many people he came into contact with so welcomed and appreciated.

It was not until I returned to Berks twelve years ago and returned to visit friends.  Mike and I ran into each other at Mandros Imported Foods, one of his store accounts, where we originally met.  Filling in the time we last seen each other he shared he married a Reading girl.   After telling me who…you, I shared he was very blessed!  And yes, Mike thanked his heavens daily for you and your children!  My deepest sympathies to you and your children.

An absolute wonderful soul!
Deepest condolences,
Joe Boyle
