Michael B. Ditzler, 67

December 02, 2024

Michael B. “Mike” Ditzler, 67, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully December 2, 2024, on the wings of St. Michael, the Archangel, and embraced in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Ruth (Rhoads) and the late Ronald Ditzler. He was married 25 years to the love of his life, Theresa H. (Geraci) Ditzler.

Mike was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and worked for over 40 years at Alcoa, now Arconic retiring 2017. He retired as the superintendent but held various roles throughout his career. Mike played an integral part in establishing the first Veterans program at his company, which was close to his heart, as he was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. As a veteran, he was a strong advocate for homeless veterans, volunteering at the shelters. Always believing in helping those less fortunate, Mike and his wife, Theresa, sponsored a family from Louisiana, providing them a home after losing everything from the devastating hurricane, Katrina. Mike also worked at LGH in various roles from 2018-2024.

Mike’s zest for life included his passions for hunting, deep sea fishing, boating, powerlifting, Kansas City Chiefs, his pups and spending time at their shore house. He was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion and the VFW. The one constant in Mike’s life was gathering of friends at the Riverside Club where he was a life member. It was a special place for sharing stories, making new friends and memories. Most importantly was his deep faith and love of family.

In addition to his mother and wife, Mike is survived by his son, Derick D. Ditzler (Tonia), 2 grandchildren, Peter and Angelita Robertson; 3 brothers: Bradley D. Ditzler (Josie), Timothy A. Diztler, and Philip S. Ditzler (Chris); brother-in-law Charles “Nud” Geraci (Ellen), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 4:00pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. The family will receive guests beginning at 2:00pm. Mike will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in Mike’s name to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, t2t.org, Parkinson’s Foundation, Parkinson.org, or the Lebanon VA Hospital Hospice Unit, Lebanon, PA, VA.gov.

I was graced with ten years of Mike serving as a loving father to me. He took me in and loved me like I was his own daughter. He taught me of what family could be and stood beside me. He will never be replaced in my heart as he changed my life. Theresa I am so sorry for the great loss in your life. Michael Brian Ditzler had a presence, made his mark and loved true. Gone too soon ❤️

Mike was definitely one of the “Good Guys”. Always the conversationalist with a quick wit and joking manner. Mike crossed paths with many people thru out his lifes journey and I am sure most will remember him warm heartedly. Growing up Mike was a dependable son to his widowed mother, helping her to keep his 3 brothers in check as much as possible. The Ditzler family with all of their memeories have lost a very loving man way to soon. As Ever B.Sage

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Mike.  My childhood is filled with memories of 500 rum, flashlight tag, hunting for monkey gold and everything else we could do to stay out of and get into trouble.  He will live forever in my heart.
