Merle E. Zellers, 78

Merle E. Zellers, 78, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on May 12, 2016 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George & Ruth (Fasold) Zellers.

Merle was a carpenter with Bulvoa Tech and built many homes. He also worked at a funeral home in his younger years. Merle owned a restaurant in Lancaster because he was a fantastic cook. He frequented the Lancaster Dispensing Company where he had many friends. He was a member of the Elks Club. He was an excellent left hand dart shooter and was on the Lancaster Dart League.

After the death of his only daughter, Susan, her husband, Michael Hoefler, became like a son to Merle and was close right up to the end. Merle is also survived by Leroy & Tank, his two boxer dogs.

A Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551. Interment will be at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
