Maybelle M. Bretz Rhodes “May”, 78

Maybelle M. Bretz Rhodes “May”, 78, of Lancaster, PA, died on Friday, January 3, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy after suffering a long illness.

Born in Annville, she was the daughter of the late Stewart J. Bretz and the late Bertha May Mann. She was married 47 years, on April 9, 1955, to the late Ronald E. Rhodes.

May had worked 5 years in the cup packing department for Dart Container of Leola. She was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1463 and was a life alumni member for Penn State University.

She was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neffsville.

Surviving are two sons: Randall Lee married to Claudette Rhodes of Lancaster, and Michael E. of Columbia; one daughter Isabel M. of Lancaster and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Gloria Kreider of Tampa, FL and one brother, William Bretz of Clay Spring, FL.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, and again on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA from 10-11AM. The Funeral Service will follow at 11AM, the Rev. Craig Ross officiating, with interment to follow the service in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Neffsville. Please omit flowers.
