Mary “Louise” Burke, 94

December 7, 1928 - February 23, 2023

Mary “Louise” Burke was born in Girardville, Schuylkill County, PA on December 7, 1928. Louise was the daughter of the late John J. and Mabel Dando Bresnock. She was married to her late husband, Joseph F. Burke, Sr. of Mahanoy City for 69 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Lititz, PA. She was a member of the Legion of Mary.

After a number of years of being a homemaker and raising 3 boys, she decided to work outside the home. She was employed at Marine Midland Bank in Oswego, NY. After moving to East Petersburg in 1975 she worked for Fulton Bank.

She spent her free time reading, gardening, and going on bus trips to various places. She belonged to the American Association of Retired Persons and was also a member of the Mall Walkers of Park City.

Surviving are her three sons, Joseph F. Burke, (Karen), York, PA, John J. Burke (Rhonda), South Carolina, and Jeffrey J. Burke, (Karen), Salunga, PA, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her brother, John J. Bresnock.

A viewing will take place from 9:30 to 10 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home, 127 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz, PA 17543 with The Rev. Ryan M. Fischer as Celebrant. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Street and George Street, Fountain Springs, PA 17921.
