November 16, 1926 - October 10, 2022

Mary D. Barry, 95, a resident of Willow Valley North, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Mazurek) Blichasz. Mary was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” E. Barry who passed away in 2007. They were married for 59 years.

Mary graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and attended the Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing. A graduate of the Real Estate Institute, she was a Pennsylvania Real Estate Associate Broker for 17 years and was professionally affiliated with the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and National Association of Realtors. Mary was also part of the Village Art Association of Lititz. An avid painter, gardener, and home decorator, Mary enjoyed creating beauty both in her work and personal life. She especially enjoyed her family and friends. She loved to attend events and sports that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated in.

Mary is survived by three children: Linda M. Barry of Lititz, Carol A. Emerson, and John Edward Barry and his wife Martha, all of Lancaster. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Heather Bruce, Nathan Emerson, Hannah Anderson and her husband Andy, Caroline Barry and Jack Barry, as well as five great-grandchildren: Grace and Liam Lynch, Andrew Schwanke, and Rhett and Wyatt Anderson. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara A. Barry; her granddaughter, Kelly M. Lynch; her great-granddaughter, Olivia L. Lynch; and her brother, Walter Blichasz.

Services and interment will be held privately by the family. Condolences to the Family

October 19, 2022

My deepest condolences to all the family and friends who surely grieve the loss of her physical presence. My prayers are with you.
One of my very greatest gifts this year was having the extremendous pleasure of getting to know Mary.  “Miss Mary”, as I called her, was an honest joy and delight and I loved the hours I got to spend with her. She was interesting, humorous, interested, and honest. We read books together, talked about family and friends, and discussed living and dying. I considered her my friend as well as a mentor of sorts.
i miss her every day, but I cherish the memories I have of her, especially of holding her beautiful hands. She was a treasure with a smile that will never dim.
i pray her life continues to bless, instruct, and guide even now.
Fondly,
Donna

My life is richer and fuller for having known both Mary and Jack Barry.  They were fine people.  It is truly an honor and blessing to have had them in my life.  My sincere condolences to the entire Barry family members.

Mary was such a wonderful person. Kind to everyone, fun to be with, and always a ray of sunshine. She was a loving mother and grandmother and dealt with each setback with grit and determination. I’m sure she’s happy to be back with her Jack who we also miss so much. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Peg and Jeff Kay

Please accept my deepest sympathy to all of Mary’s family.  Mary was the mother of my dear friend, Barbara.  I treasure the times we had together, especially the breakfasts.  Mary was a lovely lady, and I’m grateful to have known her.

My Grandmother Mary was a true Matriarch.  “Mom-Mom” as I called her was a Warrior.  Always dressed to the nines with every hair in place, her smile would light up a room.

One of my favorite things about Mom-Mom how unselfishly giving she was.  Always patient, always kind, always loving, and always your biggest Cheerleader…even when life threw curveballs and you found it difficult to cheer for yourself.

I have always looked up to my Grandmother and always loved hearing her stories about growing up in Philadelphia.  Something Mom-Mom would tell me each time we would see each other is “What a nice, polite young man Drew has become.”  I am beyond grateful Mom-Mom had the opportunity watch her Great-Grandson grow-up the past 15+ years, attend some of his Ball Games, and be his Cheerleader too.

I love you so much Mom-Mom and grateful to have had 45 years with you.
