I always enjoyed seeing Mary and Chuck when I went to visit my mother, Erma, who lived at Manor Care up until July 31. When I greeted her, Mary always called me “hon” :). So sorry for your loss.

Grandmom was an amazing, dynamic woman, who had a zeal for living her best life. She was always dancing, crafting, cooking, gardening and keeping a beautiful home, ON TOP of being an amazing host to our enormous family. I will never, EVER forget summers out in the yard or on the treehouse they put out back for the grandkids. A cold glass of lemonade in lawn chairs after a long day of playing with the cousins. Her world famous pot roast. Craft nights in the basement with a fully stocked fridge of all our favorite drinks (including YooHoo for me!) Christmas morning in the living room with the tree decked to the nines! Her singing in the kitchen as her favorite tunes played througout the house sound system. Spending weekends with Pap and Baron (her white german shepards) when I was a kid. And always calling out “hey hon” to any of us when she wanted a hand with getting the table set. We wandered Saturdays market together. Admired the trains in Strausburg. Walked to the duck pond to give them some food before wandering back home. And she was even there on my first day of college, helping me move in and get settled. And I won’t forget me reaching out the back of the car as we’d head back to virginia with my arms outstretched, calling out “Grandmom” as she waved and blew us kisses. I love you grandmom. My life is better because you were a part of it. And I am so blessed I got to see you so much, even after you were at Manor Care. You always smiled and held my hand, and your face would light up after I’d say my name was Megan. You’d respond, “Megan Hanna!? I know you sweetie!” Thank you for raising my father to be the amazing person he is today. Your legacy will live on in all of our stories. Forever.

Mary was a beloved fixture in our neighborhood, and quite literally my “mother next door.” While my sister’s and I were growing up, Mary was the keeper of our spare house key. When we came home from school and realized we had inevitably forgotten our keys, we would march across the yard to knock on Mary’s door. This must have happened at least twice a week (if not more) for 10 years. Like the wonderful mother she was, she always opened the door smiling, key-in-hand, as if she instinctively knew it was one or all three of us on her doorstep. Mary and Chuck were present at every neighborhood function my parents hosted; they even attended my college graduation party & my sister’s engagement soiree. Mary had an incredibly friendly, happy-go-lucky personality that attracted neighbors young and old. Whether she was delivering her delicious zucchini bread at Christmas, waving to us at the bus stop or passing by on her daily walk, Mary loved smiling and took pleasure in making lots of friends. She also enjoyed tending to her yard and telling jokes (“Zing!”). I will always remember Mary for her kindness, warmth, friendliness and Philly/Jersey accent. She consistently demonstrated what it means to be a good neighbor and it is fair to say the whole neighborhood deeply loves and misses her.

I will miss my sister dearly. She was my best friend and my go to person to listen to my troubles. We did alot together. She was a great sister, mother, wife and friend. There is nothing she would not do for you. She love her family with all her heart and soul. But now she is at rest and doing gardens and cooking good meals and crafting like she did here on earth. Love you sister Rose

Mary always greeted me with a ” Hello, Hon ” when I would see her at Manor Care. I will miss her and Joey B, and her faithful husband, Chuck. I think of her death not as a light going out, but rather turning off the lamp because the dawn has come.

When Mary married my brother 31 years ago, it was a joy to see how happy they both were. Mary was always a kind, loving woman to everyone. It was heartbreaking when Mary’s mind began to fail, but she remained a kind and beautiful soul. Mary was a blessing to our family. Rest In Peace, beautiful sister in law.

Mary was a wonderful lady. She taught me a lot about the gardens and crafting. We cooked together. We were neighbors and she was Sam Bradley’s Aunt. We bought a house around the connor from Aunt Mary and Uncle Chuck. She was cleaning out my kitchen cabinets the day we moved in as a surprise. Uncle Chuck was cutting the lawn when we pulled in. A lot of fond memories come from Landisville with her as our neighbor. She also babysat my daughter Emily from 12 weeks to 4 years old. Emily has the best stories and loved her Aunt Mary like a Grandmother/Aunt. Love you always Aunt Mary!
