Marilyn Elaine Karr Stuckey, 81
June 14, 1944 - June 17, 2025
Marilyn Elaine Karr (Castille/Stuckey) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Lancaster on Tuesday June 17, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on June 14, 1944, in Lancaster, PA, the daughter of the late Fannie (Karr) and Jorge Salamo.
Marilyn lived her early years in Rawlinsville, PA. As a young person she enjoyed traveling, having lived in Europe and the southeastern United States due to her father’s military assignments, she spoke often about her memories from those places. She graduated from the Karlsruhe American High School in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1962. She was married twice and while the husbands didn’t work out, she got two wonderful daughters, one from each marriage-Sondra (Castille) McCulloch and Sarah (Stuckey) Thomas, both born in Florida. Working in various jobs over the years, she ultimately found a position in accounts payable that she enjoyed and retired from Anderson Bakery/ConAgra in 2013. She was a diligent worker whose nose for numbers helped her provide a vibrant life for her family.
Beloved by everyone she met, Marilyn always had a smile on her face and infused her sense of humor into every situation. She could (and would) happily talk to anyone she met-from people in line at the grocery store, to a stranger walking down the street when she walked around the neighborhood, she enjoyed meeting and getting to know new people and always had a pocketful of dog treats for the four-legged friends she made as well. She was also a member at Rawlinsville United Methodist Church.
Marilyn took pride in her family and loved spending time with them; known as ‘Mom,’ Mom-bo,’ ‘Grandma,’ and ‘Oma,’ she could commonly be found talking about or showing pictures of her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Salamo, and sister Gail Boettger. She is survived by her brother Joe Salamo, two daughters: Sondra McCulloch and Sarah Thomas, four grandchildren: Joshua & Alex Wyland and Lona & Raina Thomas, as well as three great-grandchildren: Hadley, Tansey, and Everett Wyland.
A memorial service will be held for Marilyn on August 22, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551, with visitation 10 am – 11 am, and a Celebration of Life from 11 am – 12 pm. Interment will be private
