I consider Marie as one of my closest friends here at Brethren Village. To say that I will miss her would be a huge understatement! I met both Charlie and Marie at bridge when they first arrived on campus, and I have appreciated their friendship so very much! I learned so much from them – how to care for my own health better, strategies to help me make better decisions in bridge – among other things. They were so reliable in the bridge groups I planned. Your mother’s quiet nature had a calming effect on so many situations that required a steady demeanor. She was extremely talented in crafting and needlework and received many compliments on the sweaters she wore. She told me towards the end of her life how fortunate she was to have such caring children. May you be comforted in knowing that you were there for her when she needed you!
In love and sympathy,
Gladys Arnold
