Marie A. Jaworski, 88
July 09, 2025
Marie A. Jaworski, 88, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Born in Lansford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Victoria (Gajewski) and Albert Porambo. She was the beloved wife of the late Thadeus “Ted” J. Jaworski.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Marie cherished time with her family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who could often be found lost in a good novel, and she expressed her love through the countless sweaters, afghans, and dishcloths she lovingly knitted over the years. Her witty sense of humor and laugh brought joy to those around her.
She delighted in traveling to wherever her children were and was always ready to play dominoes with her children and grandchildren. At Christmas time, she had mountains of Christmas cookies stored in the garage waiting for her family. She also liked working and making friends at Sears in Lancaster for 25 years, keeping in touch with what was happening in Lansford by reading their local newspaper, and having lunch with friends every week in different restaurants in Lancaster County or going to the theatre with them.
For over 50 years, she was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, where her quiet strength and enduring faith were a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew her.
Marie is survived by her three sons: Robert Jaworski (Alice) of Audubon, PA; John Jaworski (Louise) of Ijamsville, MD; and David Jaworski of Huntington Beach, CA. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, James, Claire, Caroline, Eric, and Katherine and great grandmother of 3. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Frances, Daniel, Irene and Eleanor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Family and friends will be received from 10AM to 11AM. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Anne’s Catholic Church 929 North Duke Street, Lancaster PA 17602
