Marian Leah Hartl, 66

Marian Leah Hartl, 66, of East Petersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Hartl.

Many will remember Marian from her countless years as a social worker around Lancaster. After graduating from Millersville University Magna Cum Laude, she began her journey in social work where she developed many friendships; most recently working at Head Start Community Action Program. She made a substantial impact on many families and her community through her work. Even in her passing she continued to help others through organ donation.

Marian enjoyed gardening and maintained an immaculate collection of houseplants. She was an avid reader and found peace in visiting the beach. She could also be found on Sunday’s cheering for her beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

She will be sorely missed by her sister, Mildred Garcia; children, Marsha Riddick of Mountville, Matthew Keith, husband of Lisa of Bangor, Joshua Sangrey of Marietta, Zachary Sangrey of East Petersburg, Jennifer, wife of Oliver Lester of Philadelphia, and Jessica, wife of Robert Squillace of York; those who affectionately called her Nan, David Jr., Nicole, Jordan, Aliyah, Brianna, Braeden, Dylan, Joshua Jr., Julien, Elliot, Meadow, Nora, and Jocelyn; and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, from 12 -2 PM, with a Celebration of Life following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marian’s name are encouraged to be sent to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
