Marian Fry Blaylock, 85

Marian died on Sept. 2, at age 85. She was born at home in Adamstown, Pa. to the late Minerva Mae Fry and Franklin D. Fry. Marian graduated from Ephrata High School in 1948. She attended Juniata College for two years. There she met and married Marvin Blaylock in 1950. Their son, Mark, was born in 1956. “Marv” was recalled to the Air Force, which took them to Germany for three years. They returned to the Washington D. C. area, then transferred to Washington State in 1972. After nineteen years, Marian and Marv moved to Lancaster County to care for Marian’s elderly parents. Marian enjoyed playing the organ, singing in choirs and choruses, doing crafts, cooking, and traveling. She is preceded by her husband (d. Aug. 6, 2015) and a sister, Virginia; she is survived by her son. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 PM, Sun., Sept. 13, at Muddy Creek Lutheran Church. Interment of ashes will take place at 11 AM, Sat., Sept. 19, at the Blalock Family Cemetery in Prospect Hill, N.C. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Muddy Creek Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 11 S. Muddy Creek Rd., Denver PA 17517.
