April 25, 2025
Margaret B. “Meg” Crnkovich, 77, of Lancaster, went peacefully to her eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Jean (Steffens) Otis. She is the wife of the late Gregory A. Crnkovich.
Meg was a talented and passionate artist. She dedicated much of her life to creating beautiful works of art, especially through her oil paintings. Her love for art was evident in every piece she made. Meg was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where she met her husband. She also taught art classes at the Lancaster Art Association and at Lancaster Preparatory School.
Meg was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lancaster. Her parish family brought her immense consolation and comfort, especially in the later years of her life. She was instrumental in imparting the teachings of the Catholic faith to her daughter, and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother.
Meg is survived by her daughter, Regina (Dustin Vogel) Crnkovich; her five siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 10am to 11am on Friday, May 2, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 Saint Joseph Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11am. Burial will take place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Meg’s name to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul at: https://sjnconfsvdp.org/donate.

I got to know Meg through her devotion to Mass at St Joseph Church. Although plagued by arthritis, Meg only ever lamented her increasing difficulty doing her art and did not complain but bore her difficulites with grace and good humor. She drove herself until her fall changed the trajectory of her life and was as independent as possible. Always welcoming, I enjoyed any time that I had with Meg — an outing for lunch, the gala celebration of St Joseph’s 175th anniversay, and times in her home. I will miss her very much. My love and condolences to Gina and her family members.

Gina,
I was so very sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. I met her at church a few times after you and I had been to Lourdes. She was gracious and lovely. May she rest in eternal peace. With love,
Bonnie Schmitt
