Mahlon L. Gockley, 84
January 24, 2026
Mahlon L. Gockley, 84, of Mount Joy, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Raymond and Esther (Ludwig) Gockley. He was married to Miriam (Albert) Gockley until her passing in 1989.
Mahlon, also affectionately known as “Mellon” and “Pappy” to a select few, was an extremely hardworking man. He was a laborer for Weaver Chicken, now Tyson Foods, until his retirement. Mahlon was an avid hunter, enjoyed birdwatching, listening to oldies music, and loved dogs. Most of all, he cherished being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mahlon is survived by 2 children: Nancy Gockley and Randy Gockley (Connie); 2 grandchildren: Holly Sheaffer and Colton Gockley; great-grandson, Wyatt Sheaffer, and sister, Miriam Huyett. He was predeceased by 3 children: Janice Albert, Dennis Gockley, and Tina Gockley; and 3 siblings: Melvin Gockley, Marie Lapp, and Minerva Huyett.
A celebration of Mahlon’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11 AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 AM.

Awwwwwe, such sad news. An older couple was in my job (the night before he passed) and when they found out where I live, the said about the old guy (Mahlon) that was always on his front porch, striking up a conversation with whoever was going for dinner across the street, at the White Swan (Lititz). The following day I got the saddest news. RIEP Mahlon…you will be missed by many, and we’ll certainly miss all “the Mahlon” stories from his daughter Nancy, who still resides in the home her and Mahlon shared. 😇🥰🙏🏼💔

Sending my thoughts and prayers your way. Reading all the names, again remind me of the many memories of the Gockley/Martin reunions. Those memories live on in our minds. Second Cousins,
