Lydia Delgado, 76

Lydia Delgado, 76, of Lancaster, PA, and formerly of Florida, passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, PA, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. She celebrated 33 years of marriage to her husband Candido M. Delgado last July 28th.

Born in San Gérman, Puerto Rico, Lydia was the daughter of the late Emiliano R. Acosta and Emilia A. Pacheco. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family, and she worked in housekeeping at a nursing home in Florida.

Lydia was a member of Asamblea de Iglesia Pentecostal de Jesucristo-Emanuel in Columbia, PA, where she often read the poems she wrote. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dogs, cooking, writing and reading poems, watching music contestant shows on TV, and traveling to Florida and Puerto Rico.

In addition to her husband Candido, Lydia is survived by five children, Luis A. Plaza, Kissimmee, FL, Clarissa Estrada of Harrisburg, PA, David Bracero of Lebanon, PA, Jose Plaza of St. Cloud, FL, and Edward Bracero of Lebanon, PA; as well as 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and eight siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Ermalinda Plaza, and two of her siblings.

A viewing will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am with Rev. Emérita Perales officiating, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
