I had a phone call some 50 years ago, Len told me a researcher in England had found my contact information so he called me, and Len told me he had traced back to James Thomas Gathercole born in Outwell, England. I immediately said I knew who James Thomas was, a nephew of my great-grandfather. Len, who was my newly-discovered 4th cousin, then visited us here in Illinois, as he was temporarily working in Chicago. Subsequently Len, and Diane, too, visited us here several times. I treasured knowing him and sharing our genealogy interests. He was truly an English gentleman. My sympathies to his entire family.

I hoped Len would make it to 100 with quality. I thought of him often after you moved. I always felt welcome when seeing Len as that was his way. A gentleman with class and talent. You all are fortunate to have had so many years with that fine man. We shall all meet again. Rob and Deb Reidenbach
