Kris Newman, 71, of Manheim, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Randolph, VT, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Cleo (Davis) Newman. His greatest treasure was spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his genuine smile and sparkling eyes as well as his love for family and friends.

As I said before no word is enough to express our feelings. Is actually hard to accept the reality that Pastor Krist is not here anymore, but a little piece of him will remain in each of us  forever and one thing we surely know, He..”fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith, so right now he is surrounded by perfect Love at home ,precious place and receiving the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, had prepared for him.
Our prayers , love and hearts with the Newman family

Pastor Kris was a man who walked by the spirit of God and truly exemplified the love of Christ. His care for God’s Word and the body of Christ was a blessing to all who knew him.  He will be missed. So thankful for eternal life in Christ and that we will see him again. I Thessalonians 4:16-18

March 02, 2019

Darlene & family,  I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember Kris from Zion Gospel Temple since I was a young girl. He always had that beautiful smile!  I can’t remember a time when I didn’t see him wearing that smile.  When I became a student, I remember being in the choir, there was a guest speaker,  I think it was Vicki Jamison,  She sang “Rise and be Healed in the name of Jesus”  and encouraged those who needed healing to rise & claim their healing.  I remember Kris standing with both arms raised and years flowing down his cheeks.  I was crying and praying for his healing.  You could feel and see the Holy Spirit in Zion and upon Kris.  May Gods peace fill your heart until you are reunited. You are in my thoughts and prayers,  Debbie

March 02, 2019

Dar, Sue and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Kris’ homegoing. He was a true Zionian in every sense of the word. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time.  I tried the two phone numbers that I had for you but neither worked. Please give me a call later when you have the time. Sid Griffith (ZBI ’69) Springfield, MO

March 02, 2019

To Kris’ family I send my love and prayers. I knew Kris well when we were both young people growing up in Randolph, VT. I was very close to Roberta during those years and frequented the Newman home. Like his mother, Kris held strong religious beliefs in those days and it was not surprising to learn that he sought to know more of Christ and God’s will. He rests in loving hands. May your memories of a really great man stay with you always.

March 02, 2019

Dear Darleen, I don’t have words to express how shocked and saddened  I was to hear of Kris’ sudden passing. You two were such an exemplary couple from our early days at Zion.  I can still remember the excitement, as one of your roommates, in hearing about your wedding plans and dreams for the future. Doug and I are thinking of you today, with love and prayers,  that you will be surrounded by the love, peace and strength of our Savior. We are praying for you, Kristal and your precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.  We cling to the reality that the Lord is near to the broken hearted and trust Him to help in the coming days. Love,    Doug and Marie Moore

March 01, 2019

Our hearts are equally shaken by the sudden demise of a man my late husband met in 1998 when he joined First Assembly of God, a student at Lancaster Bible College. My husband Dr. Steve Ngethe introduced Pastor Kris and Darlene to me and our children. Their genuine love, big hearts and great smiles connected us together. Though we are Kenyans Pastor Kris and Darlene become our parents and from then on my late husband and I have treasured them as Dad and Mum. Our children call them ‘Guka’ and ‘Cucu’ which is for grandpa and grandma in our language. We have been such family that when Steve returned to Kenya, in 2002 God blessed us with a daughter we named her Kristal in like Kris daughter Kristal Bentley.
From 2003 to date pastor Kris and Darlene Newman and members of First Assembly of God, Lancaster have organized more than 5 mission trips to Nakuru, Kenya. Because of their genuine council, love and support we were able to start a church (Fountain Worship Center, Nakuru) and a ministry (Fountain of Light Centre’s International) that currently has 13 other churches affiliates.
Pastor Kris was our spiritual father and we highly esteemed his council. Every time he brought a team, he always made sure there was a session to teach church leaders. As family and church, we see a mark of his touch on every development project carried undertaken in Fountain Worship Center Nakuru. This is why we in Kenya feel the pain of his demise and we mourn together with Mum Darlene, our sister Kristal Bentley, the grand children and the great grandchildren.
Pastor Kris Newman has fought a good fight and heaven has received a garrant soldier who was not ashamed to love strangers. He has gone a head to join the heavenly cloud of witnesses whom we look forward to meet when our time comes. This is the hope that keeps us strong and helps us to go through the pain and emptiness of grief after a loved one has rested.
Blessed are those who die in the Lord, for their works shall follow them.
We loved you Dad and your sweet memories will remain with us till we meet again on that other side of heaven.

March 01, 2019

Darlene,
We were really saddened to hear the news.  Kris was there for me delivering Gods love when I was totally dependent on prayers and a miracle.  Your kindness towards us is talked about often.  We wish you peace and love as you cope with your loss.

Darlene:
Kris made an impact on everyone he came in contact with. I will never forget shovelng snow with him at Zion thoughout the night in the blizzard of 78. He was a hard worker, a man after God’s heart and one we will never forget.

Darlene, Kristal and family – My husband and I are so sad for your loss.  Though we never met Kris personally, it is clear from all we’ve heard that he was a godly man who shared his faith with all those he touched both in and out of his congregation.  We pray that you would have strong support of family and friends as you grieve and that you take comfort that Kris left such a legacy of love for the Lord Jesus.  Our prayers are with all of you.
