November 29, 2025
Kenneth J. Doutrich, 76, formerly of Millersville, passed away on November 29, 2025, from complications of COVID-19.
Born in Lancaster, PA, Ken was the son of the late Clarence and Lillian Doutrich. At the age of six, Ken was diagnosed with polio and was among the first children in the area to contract the disease in the mid-1950s. He spent more than a year in an iron lung and served as a poster child for the March of Dimes during his recovery. Ken endured many surgeries before he was able to return to school and later graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1968.
Ken never allowed his disability to define him. He attended trade school for the handicap and went on to work for Veitch Printing before joining Select Security as a sales representative.
He was a member of the former Evangelical Church located at Shippen and Locust Streets in Lancaster. In 1977, Ken married Iwanda “Wendy” Ilgenfritz.
Ken is survived by his wife, Wendy Doutrich; his brother, Barry (Linda) Doutrich; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Doutrich; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Doutrich.
Ken will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family.
