Condolences to the Family

March 01, 2021

To Kathy’s family, my sincerest condolences. As I was sitting here this evening she came to mind and so I did an internet search and learned of her passing. We attended Wheatland Junior High and McCaskey together; she sat behind me in homeroom. Her joyous laughter and gracious hospitality always made everyone feel welcome in her presence. You all are in my prayers and will remain in my heart.
Warmest regards,
Esther (James) Chewning

Dear Tina and Kyvele, I am absolutely shocked to have received this news about Kathy.  I remember the wonderful times I had with her during my year in Lancaster in 1985-86.  She was a genuine and open hearted person.  May her soul rest in peace.  My heartfelt condolences to all of you in this time of grief.  If there is anything I can do in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out.  Akil Hirani, Mumbai, India (akil@majmudarindia.com)

Katerina was a shining light in so many lives at Harvard! I met Katerina through Vicky Martins, an Argintinian classmate of hers at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Vicky, Katerina and I shared several fun-filled moments – a boat ride among them – (and yes, some stress-filled study moments too!). Brim-filled with a sunny smile that lit up the world around her, Katerina shone in the lives of others.
Engaging, committed to education, a woman of family and faith up-lifting to all who sourrounded her. Invited to her wedding, Vicky and I drove from Canada to the most memorable ‘Wedding Day’ to her beloved Paul – a feast of faith, unforgettable dancing and delicious food with circles and circles of family and friends. I don’t remember sleeping! What a treasured gift to us all.
Apples never fall far from the tree, and Sofia and Apostolos Luke I just know you are your Mom’s shining legacy of kindness in our world. We will all miss her so much. She moved our hearts! We share your longing, love and missing. Know you are surrounded by our prayers and love today. Shine on, like your Mom!
Love, Dr. Betsy McGregor, Clear Lake, Ontario, Canada.

It was such an honor to have known Katerina for the past ten years at Success for All. She was a wonderful co-worker. I worked with her in Chicago in leadership with Principals and the Superintendent in my early years as a coach.  Her gentle and giving spirit will live on among many colleagues.
Katerina was one of the most kindest, generous person I have ever known. Prayers to the family in this time of sorrow.  Know that she is alright- resting, and at peace.!

Dear Kyvele and Tina what a sad sad happening.  My heart and my prayers go out to both of you.  Kyvele it is a terrible thing to bury a child and you have had to do it twice plus you Tina losing another sibling.  It is tough it never goes away but it does get softer over the years.  May the ground that covers her lay softly.  Zoe se esas.  May her memory be eternal.  Tom and Demetra patukas ✝✝✝💜💜💜
