💔 Rest in Love, Ms. Karen 💔
 
My heart hurts hearing the news about someone who felt just like an Auntie to me. We didn’t know each other for many years, but from the moment we met, it felt like we’d been family forever. That’s just how it was with Ms. Karen.
 
I had the privilege of working alongside her at The Mix, and as a matter of fact, our last day working camp together was just two weeks ago. Ms. Karen was a no-nonsense, keep-it-real kind of person — and I loved that about her. I’m going to miss walking into The Mix and hearing, “Hey Bishop, how was your day, baby?” We’d talk about family, Gospel music, food, the kids we served, the community, and just life in general.
 
It feels strange to speak of her in the past tense. But its like I can almost hear her voice now saying, “I’m okay, baby. You just make sure you take care of your wife, love on those kids, and do the right thing in life — you’re gonna be alright, Bishop.”
 
Love and miss you, Ms. Karen. May your legacy live on forever. 🕊🙏🏾💙

Miss Karen was an amazing individual. She was kind and loved what she did. She inspired me in many ways and one of the things that I admired most about her is she told you the truth when you needed to hear it. She was so supportive of me when I moved on from the Mix. I just saw her 2 weeks ago at my cousins funeral which was also her sister in law. She looked great and enjoyed time with us after the funeral.  Karen was Family to us regardless. She still stayed in contact with my family. My condolences 💐
