January 27, 2024
Kanakalingeswara Rao Goteti, 77, of Millersville, PA, formerly of Narasapur, India, passed away at home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kamanapudi, India, Kanakalingeswara Rao was the eldest son of late Smt.Sita Maha Lakshmi Goteti and late Sri.Sundara Siva Rao Goteti.
He was the loving husband of Surya Kumari Goteti, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. After losing his father suddenly at the age of 30, he had stepped up as the head of the household and took over the family’s responsibilities. He was a devoted Son to his mother, a supportive big Brother to his three brothers and two sisters, a loving Father to his four children, a doting Grandfather to his two grand children, a confidante for his extended family and carried all of his responsibilities with utmost dedication.
Kanakalingeswara Rao, lovingly called as “GKL Mastaru” by his students, dedicated over 35 years of his life to education, teaching High School Mathematics and Physics. Throughout his life/career he was adored by his students, respected by his colleagues, trusted by his friends and had been a pillar of the community. He had a profound impact on everyone’s lives that he touched, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Beyond the classroom, he found immense fulfillment in preserving his Father’s legacy by taking care of the family’s coconut farm.
Kanakalingeswararao is survived by his loving family: his wife, Surya Kumari; children: Srinivas (Neelima), Lakshmi (Ravi), Pavan and Sireesha (Shine); grandchildren: Vaishali and Vikram; and siblings: Anasuya, Nageswara Rao, Satyavathy, Rama Rao and preceded in passing by his brother Venkateswara Prasad. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
A private prayer service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, allowing the family to gather in reflection and remembrance.

He indeed stimulated my interest in science when I was his student several years ago. May his soul rest in peace.
