Judith Bradley Erb, 79
Judith “Judie” B. Erb, 79, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Priscilla (Charles) Bradley.
Judie was a 1962 graduate of Penn Manor High School. She worked for 17 years as a talented stained-glass designer and contractor. Art was definitely a passion of hers, and she was gifted with the skill to create beautiful work. More recently, she worked for 14 years as a CNA for Conestoga View until her retirement. Judie enjoyed going to local art shows in her younger years and created some beautiful designs to share with others. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be remembered for her warm, loving smile, and big hugs.
Judie is survived by her son, Stephen Erb (Deborah), 4 grandchildren: Bradley Erb (Heather), Nicole Amspacher (Nate), Peyton Taylor (Justin), and Jenna Erb; 5 great-grandchildren: Landon, Macy, Elijah, Brayley, and Ryder; niece Sue Clery (Bill), and nephew Mike Barry (Therese). She was preceded in death by her sister Diana Barry.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Judie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 3 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Family and friends will be received beginning at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judie’s name can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Dear Steve (and family), It has been years and years since I saw either Judie or you. I think after Priscilla and Barbara passed we all sort of lost connections. Regardless, I have some very fond memories of your mother from when I was 5 years old. My mother (Barbara) and I came to visit your grandmother (Priscilla). This was in 1957 so Judie must have been about 16/17 and was driving. I rode with her in the car to go get hoagies which we brought back to the house and had for lunch. From the perspective of a 5 year old, these were the largest sandwiches I had ever seen in my life. I think between the 4 of us, we ate a total of 1. Before too many more years elapsed, she and Priscilla came to Texas for a visit. I remember how excited my mother was to see her much beloved sister and how excited Judie was to ride a horse. Then for many, many years, at Christmas, there were always these most amazing stained glass suncatchers that came to Barbara from Judie (or from Priscilla). By the time I finished high school there were suncatchers in every window in the house (and this was well before “suncatchers” were widely available and high standardized) and each was unique – and especially to my mother they were sweet reminders of her PA family. When I was in Phildadelphia in the late 1970s (and scared of getting lost everytime I got in a car – this was well before GPS)), your mother invited me to your home in Shillington for a meal and some adventures. I do not remember the details of the visit, but do remember how welcome you both made me feel. Until Barbara died in 1994 I got regular updates on your successes via the Judie/Diana/Barbara network. She was always so proud of you – and I think that was magnified by the fact that this was well before being a “single mother” was widely accepted – but you never let that get in your way!!!
I am sorry that I was not able to come to the rememberance service. I had had a bad cold earlier in the week and was still coughing like crazy from some post nasal drip, so I thought best to not be an interruption at the service. The pictoral tribute was terrific!
As I am sure Mike Barry shared with you, I am now living in Hershey with my partner of many years, Ken Stahl, frequently get to Lancaster for shopping or visiting, etc. Perhaps we can get together for a meal or a visit. My cell is 210-215-2569.
With fond memories of a lovely lady (with the best laugh!) and deepest condolences, Dan Hale

Judie and I were classmates at Penn Manor High school. She was fun to be with. She always had a smile and friendly greeting for everyone. We were both on the tennis team, but she was much better than me! She excelled in Mrs. Rutherford’s art class. We worked on the yearbook committee in our senior year, and she designed the cover of our 1962 yearbook. I remember her fondly when I look at it. My sympathies to her family. Sincerely, Carol Williams Goss

Steve, Deb and Family, so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent and grandmother is hard. Knowing she is a peace and with Jesus adds so much comfort to the heart. I was glad to know her and spend many occasions with her. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Bob & Lisa Boyd and family

I remember Judy as a caring person and she loved her son Steve and his family. Steve is my brother in law, but more than that he is our brother and we love him, my sister Deb and their family. Connie & I pray for the loss of a mother, mother in law and grandmother. Judy RIP and at peace with our Lord & Savior David Burkholder
