Joyce A. Gehman, 93

January 1, 1933 - January 24, 2026

Joyce A. Gehman, 93, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with Jesus on January 24, 2026. Born in Adamstown on January 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Aaron W. and Florence (Baker) Gehman.

She was a graduate of Preston Maternity Hospital in Philadelphia. After a few years of home nursing, she spent the rest of her working years as a nurse at the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital.

Joyce was a member of Hershey Mennonite Church where she volunteered in the church office. With her pastor’s support, Joyce initiated and produced a monthly prayer calendar for the congregation for about 20 years.

She loved knitting, and new babies received one of her handmade items.

Joyce is survived by a brother, Paul Gehman and his wife Inez (Bowman) Gehman of Harrisonburg, VA; two sisters, her twin Janet Gehman and Margaret Gehman, both of Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Carol Gehman, a brother Donald Gehman and his wife Ruth Eby Gehman, and a nephew Fred Gehman.

Joyce and her sisters welcomed the title “Auntie” from the sons of Tingting and Nathan Santiago.

For the last 2½ years of her life Joyce received excellent care at Fairmount Homes.

A private graveside service will be held. Memorial gifts may be made to the Sharing Fund at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522.
