Condolences to the Family

October 25, 2018

My name is Lisa, my grandmother is Lillian.  Jo and Lillian were close friends though Catholic University and that friendship extended to me.  I lost touch with Jo and it makes me sad.  She was so strong, I guess she never aged in my mind.  Tonight I found a card she wrote my Grandma and I googled her name thinking I would call her, but she is home in Heaven.  I know quickly without thinking, her beautiful soul was received with a party. Jo took me to see the Pope with her special tickets from Catholic University and Jo took me to Catholic University registration for an introduction to the Nursing Program. She was so wonderful to me and even though I am way delayed, I could not skip sharing with you my heartfelt respect for you Aunt Josephine.

After several years of searching for Josephine, I found, today, this obituary for Josephine. My name is Geraldine B. Buggy Fasolka and I was a friend of Josephine since 1941 when we were in training together at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster. She and Molly Buggy and I were roommates in the nurses’ home at the School of Nursing. I lost touch when Josephine left her home in Quarryville and I didn’t know where she moved. I have fond memories of “Jo.” She often came to visit me and my family in Kulpmont, PA, always bringing her little dog. May she rest in peace.
