Joseph R. Preperato, 84

Joseph R. Preperato, 84, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Conestoga View. He was born in Lancaster to the late Joseph A. and Nora (Bleecher) Preperato. Joe shared 45 years of marriage with his wife Gertrude A. (Musser) Preperato before her death in 2001.

Like all of his family, Joe graduated from St. Anthony’s Catholic School and Lancaster Catholic High School. He then graduated from F&M College and worked as a CPA for several companies.

A parishioner of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, he had been a longtime treasurer for youth activities. When his children were younger, Joe loved family camping trips. He played badminton and volleyball and he enjoyed following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. Joe was a loving caregiver for his daughter Julia and wife Gertrude, both whom preceded him in death.

Joe is survived by three children: Michael Preperato of King of Prussia, Thomas Preperato, husband of Jacquelyn (Price) of Mountville and Barbara, wife of Joseph Faller of Fort Recovery, OH; five grandchildren: T. J. Preperato of Arizona, Chris Preperato of Virginia, Derick Faller, husband of Lauren of Ohio, Renee, wife of Thomas Webster of Washington and Andrea Faller of Ohio and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will take place 10:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM with Rev. Daniel P. O’Brien as Celebrant, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
