John Yuko, 90
August 11, 2025
John Yuko, 90, of Central City, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on August 11, 2025, in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
Born and raised in Central City, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kaye Yuko (formerly Kaye Ling of Central City, now of Lititz, PA), his sister Jean, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and his three children — Kimberly Oravec and her husband Roger of Lititz; John Yuko and his wife Bernadette of Lititz; and Mark Yuko and his wife Sharon of Central City — as well as eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and his beloved Shorkie named Poppy.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary and Frances, and his brothers Frank and Bob.
John retired after 40 dedicated years at Highland Tank Manufacturing Company in Stoystown, PA, and enjoyed 25 years of retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace and excitement in hunting and fishing and could always be found working on one project or another.
Though his hobbies and work brought him fulfillment, nothing meant more to John than his wife, Kaye, and the large, loving family they built together. His quiet strength, steady presence, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family plans for a quiet family ceremony to remember their father and grandfather.

My deepest sympathy to Kaye and family. John’s parents lived across the street from Don and me for many years. I remember talking to John and Kaye a few months ago at Anthony’s for Sunday lunch.

My memories of John are tied to his presence in our Paris, formerly Sacred Heart (now Our Lady Wueen of Angels) in Central City. Always gracious, and always with Kate (a former companion in our choir). May his soul rest in peace and may his family be comforted. Marion (Kochan) Zurenda

So very sorry for your loss. Uncle John was one of my favorites. I’ll never forget when you visited me and my father in Florida. I know it meant a lot to my father and me. He will live on in my heart. Larry Reimer
