John J. Jones, 64
John “Jack” J. Jones, 64, of Lancaster, died Wednesday evening at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.
Jack was the husband of Rae Jean Nye Jones, with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage this past March 21st. Born in Shamokin, Jack was the son of the late William B. and Genevieve Kurtz Jones.
He had worked for the PA Dept. of Labor and Industry as a claim examiner for the past 10 years.
Jack was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
A US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a military policeman, attaining the rank of Airman 2ND Class.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his siblings: his twin brother William B. married to Frances Jones of Shenandoah; his twin sisters Mary Marconi of Danville and Jean Shutt of Northumberland; a sister Margaret Grinaway of Shamokin, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend the memorial services at Covenant United Methodist Church, 110 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, PA on Monday at 10AM with the Rev. Ted Mefferd officiating. Friends will be received by the family following the service. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2PM, the Rev. Glen Esler officiating.
