To my dearest sister Karen and family
In April 1971 you brought a guest to my house for Easter celebration.  He was so likable, handsome and very youthful looking (like you) whose name was John Paul III. Looking at you two young lovebirds across the table I had not picture the dynamic duo that would sit across the table 44 yrs later.  An awesome blessing for family and friends.
The other memory was John speaking of him and his dad working on a dune buggy and the family’ s affinity of Volkswagon cars from Squarebacks, Van, Ghia to the Beetles. John’s love (besides Karen) was the Super Beattle.  How he pampered that car til the day when fatherhood became his priority.  He had to say goodbye to the Super Beattle, commenting to me…..”hated to see it go..but it is time to move on.”

As years passed and the memories of that car, this young man, surrounded with love, support, and encouragement evolved into a powerhouse of love, respect, tolerance, patience, mediation.acknowledgment, consolation, endurance, and Faith for the ever widening circle of both family and friends.
What a blessing to have hadJohn as a brother-in-law and dependable friend, teacher, interpreter, and humorist. You will be missed on my remaining journey.
“Well done faithful servant.”………..’..time to move on’
Love and Prayers…..Joycie

Karen and John,
John, you will be missed but all of us will remember the beautiful relationship that you and Karen had and especially the close relationship with your children. You two were the perfect parents, putting them to bed every night!  We were always in awe of your commitment to your kids and we learned so much about parenting from the two of you which we will cherish forever. I know that you were such a special person and I know you will be the same special person in Heaven!
Love, Dennis and Carla

Dear Karen and family, I am writing this note to express my sorrow upon hearing of John’s passing. I was a rider in that first dune buggy way back when and remember how proud he was when it became street worthy! There are no words to make the pain lessen but your happy, loving memories will always be with you. Gale Weaver-Jones

Dear Karen and Family,
Please accept my good wishes for all of you.  John was a good friend through elementary school, junior high, and high school, but I lost contact after moving to Wisconsin.  Seeing you in the high school reunion photos made me want to visit my next time back home to talk…even more so after reading about John’s amazing union work at the utility.  But although I miss him now, I know you’re having the hard time of your life missing him.  My heart and blessings go out to you.

Dear Karen and Family,
I had the great pleasure meeting John back in the early 1980’s. I was a Material Handler in the Central Division at the time. We hit it off immediately.
Over the year working for PP&L together, we came in contact with each other many, many times and it was always a great reunion!
I admired JP very much! A good man of true integrity.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and JP’s family.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Anthony F. ” Tony” Merlino, Jr.
