Jewel Faye Lewis, 72

Jewel Faye Lewis, 72, of New Providence, PA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2020, with children by her side. Born in Hensley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edna (Richards) and Jess Shepherd.

Jewel was a proud Coal Miner. She enjoyed visiting Thrift Stores, yard sales and doing crafts. She enjoyed dancing and laughing with those around her. She was devoted to her pets: Little Girl, Deago “Bo”, Black, Geekers, Sassy and Miller. More than anything Jewel cherished spending time with her Great Grandchildren and pulling them in the wagon. She was devoted to her family. Her kind heart, sense of humor and love of life will be missed by all who knew her.

Jewel is survived by three children: Richard Wayne Lewis, of Peach Bottom, PA, Melissa Ann Lewis of Edgewood, MD and Diana Lynn Jennings, wife of Justin Scott Jennings of Peach Bottom, PA; 9 Grandchildren: Justin Jennings, Kristen Lewis, Julia Garrett, Scottie Lynn Jennings, Anthony Johnson, Christopher Garrett, James Wallace, Christina, Alison D’Alesandro; 9 Great Grandchildren: Austin Tyler, Aubrey and Corbin Garrett, Julian James, Camden Cole, Keira Rose, Wallace, Jordyn Powl and Dean Lutz; her sister Betty England and her partner Stanley “Homer” Powell. Jewel was preceded in death by her 5 brothers: Ellis, Lawrence, Fred, Junior, Bernard Shephard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, 7 S. Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA 17579. Friends and family will be received from 12 PM until the time of service.
