Jean M. Amico, 89

Jean M. Amico (O’Connor) 89 of Lancaster, PA. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away the evening of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Elizabeth O’Connor. She was preceded in death by her husband A. David Amico, with whom she was married for 68 years until his passing in 2021. She was also preceded in death by her brothers William (Bill), Robert (Bob), and Thomas O’Connor of Lancaster, and a sister, Catherine Stark of Elizabethtown, PA.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Denise Glatfelter (Steve), of Lancaster, PA and Lori Erb (Donald), of Lititz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmerman (Steven), Strasburg, PA, Stephen Glatfelter (Melody), of Falls Church, VA, Nicholas Erb of Lancaster, PA and Donald L. Erb of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Justin Zimmerman of Strasburg, PA, Mason D. Glatfelter of Falls Church, VA and Declan Erb of Lancaster, PA as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean attended JP McCaskey High School, and was employed for many years at RCA, in Lancaster, and at the IU 13 for over 25 years in the instructional materials department.
Friends and family are welcomed to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601, with Msgr. Peter I. Hahn as officiant. A viewing will be held from 10 – 11 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA.
If desired, memorial contributions in Jean’s memory can be made to Hospice & Community Care, or to the Colonial Williamsburg Historical Foundation, 134 N. Henry Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Her favorite quote from her many trips to visit Colonial Williamsburg was, “That the future may learn from the past.”

I enjoed working with Jean for many many years. She was a hard worker and could be counted on to
get the job done. She was able get through our tramatic transisition to computer scheduling quite well!
She always talked warmly about Friday night dinners with Dave at Lombardo’s and Lori. That is a very nice picture of her in the paper. Good thoughts and warm wishes to all of her relatives!
