Jay Feingold, 72

December 01, 2018

Jay Feingold, 72, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2018 at UPMC Lititz. Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Squirrel Hill, he was the son of the late Maurice and Bess (Bayer) Feingold.
An alumnus of Taylor Allderdice High School, Jay went on to further his education at Drexel University where he earned Bachelor’s degree, and St. Joseph University for his MBA.
Jay was extremely passionate about his life’s work, jewelry. His interest in style, design, merchandising, and marketing led him to have a long career working for companies such as The Franklin Mint, QVC, and HSN. He was the president and owner of TLS Design and Feingold Enterprises. He worked with HSN, where he would showcase his designs in nationally televised segments.
A proud Pittsburgh native, Jay would enthusiastically root for the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and the Philadelphia 76ers. Jay’s personality would light up a room, making life long friendships and connections everywhere he went. More than all things, Jay loved his two daughters, both of whom he is very proud. He encouraged them to pursue their passions with the same enthusiasm that he implemented in all facets of his life.
Jay will be remembered fondly for his bright outlook, sense of humor, and youthful spirit.
Surviving is Jay’s wife, Carroll Truran Feingold with whom they recently celebrated 35 wonderful years of marriage; his daughters, Anne and Maura Feingold, and his many beloved cousins in the Bayer family and his adoptive siblings in the Truran family.
Services will be held Wednesday December 5, 2018 at 11:30am at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Dear Carol, Anne & Maura,
Wishing you the best during these difficult times.
Jay was a great friend who I had the pleasure of sharing stories about Pittsburgh, the sports teams, work and play. He was always positive and supportive as we remained in touch and followed each other’s careers over 30 years.
Please know that your family was the center of his world. We had some good laughs together and I always appreciated his strong work ethic in support of all of you.
May He Rest In Peace,
David Baraky and Family.

Words cannot express the deep sadness I felt to learn of my long-time friend Jay’s passing this morning. I have known Jay since my Home Shopping Network days, and just last week we had coffee together at Starbucks here in Austin, and wished each other a happy holiday season. I want to express my deepest sympathies to the entire family in this time of sorrow. I know I will miss Jay a lot.

Dear Carroll – I do not have the words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.  It has been a priviledge to know Jay all these years.  He taught me so much and my only regret is that I never really told him how much I appreciated him.  He was one of those rare sould that you could go years without seeing and then bump into him and it was like no time had passed.  My prayers go out to you and your girls.  Know how very much he loved you all.

Carol, Anne & Maura,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Jay’s unexpected passing.
When I lost my Dad & Mom unexpectedly a few years ago I came across this verse and I’m sure Jay would want the same . . .
“We can shed tears that you are gone, Or we can smile because you lived,
We can close our eyes and pray that you will come back, Or we can open our eyes and see all that you have left.
Our heart can be empty because we can’t see you, Or we can be full of the love that we shared,
We can turn our back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or we can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
We will remember you and only that you are gone, Or we can cherish your memory and let it live on,
We can cry and close our mind be empty and turn our back, Or we can do what you would want us to do  . . .
Smile, open our eyes, live, love and carry on. “
Wrapping  you all with hugs, love and prayers during this difficult time

This “gentle giant”made any challenging day at Drexel Institute of Technology( in those days), or in Powelton Village or the Sammy House a “more better” fun place. His humor, his habitual smile & his brotherhood is a legacy that will always be “Fast & Firm”. Rest in Peace Big Guy!

Rest in Peace my dear Pledge Mate and Brother. Job well done.
Fraternally,

I met Jay some fifty years ago upstairs in SAM fraternity house it was brief, and our friendship continued on until now.I’ve met numerous people in my life travels so many I’ve forgotten their names. Jay will never be forgotten the stories I tell about him are ones of admiration. My Man, your one of very few men I can honesty say I loved you like a brother. Until we meet again may GOD hold you in the palms of his hands.
