Janet Louise Medlar Baisch, 77
February 03, 2024
Janet Louise Medlar Baisch, 77, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, died with her family by her side at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday night, February 3, 2024, and is finally at peace. Born on July 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Morgan Medlar and late Florence (Betty) and Nevin Haller. She was the loving wife of Ernie Baisch, whom she spent 47 years together by his side.
Janet graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1964. Her love of hair dressing took her to Empire Beauty School which eventually led her to open her own beauty shop on King Street in Lancaster. She later worked at Donnelly Printing for 38 years in the Quality Control Department proofing the ads and catalogues, which if you know Janet, this was the most fitting job for the perfectionist she was.
Janet was an amazing and talented cook and loved making meals for her family and big gatherings. If you were lucky to ever eat her food, you were lucky. Her chicken corn soup, lasagna, sweet potatoes, and chicken dishes were family favorites.
Janet was an avid shopper and decorator. If you have ever gone on a shopping excursion with her you know it was an adventure which consisted of her knowing everyone working at the stores. They were so excited to see her and always welcomed her with hugs and a big smile. She was a pro at getting a great deal but not skimping on quality, picking out the most thoughtful gifts, and incorporating her finds into decorating her home. She had a magic touch to make it cozy.
Janet’s pure joy was her children and grandchildren. Her most favorite thing to do was go watch her grandkids in their sporting events and traveled far and wide to attend countless baseball, football, volleyball, track and field and basketball games. She was a consistent presence at these events and made many friends along the way.
Her most recent years without a license took her to walking distance establishments D&S Brasserie, Pasqueles and Bridgeport Diner where she became a regular patron and was so loved by the employees. Janet also loved concerts, musicals, travel, casinos, and her beloved grand-doggies.
In addition to her devoted husband, Ernie Baisch, she is survived by her children Jennifer Kudlacik (son-in-law Gregg), David Martin (daughter-in-law Karie) and Stephanie Pepe (son-in-law Dan), her grandchildren, Logan, Haley, Allison, Grayson, Zachary, Morgan, Max, and great grandson Liam. She also had a special and close bond with her siblings and their spouses Candy, Nevin (Rhonda), Heidi, and Monica (Randy), in addition to Ernie’s family. She was a kind and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and loved her godchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday February 11, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA at 11am. Family invites guests to a viewing prior to service from 9:30am to 11am. In lieu of flowers donations in Janets honor may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at www.act.alz.org or an animal charity of your choice.

So sorry to see the passing of my dear friend 💞
Janet and I were close friends at St.Joe. We had so much fun with parties, dances and sleep overs and movies at The Strand and snacks at
Frenchy’s. Spent great times on Manor Street
with her Grandmother and her Aunts. She was
the best part of my childhood.💞

Pam and I dearly loved Janet and were so sad that we fell out of touch with her after baseball separated us. She was the warmest, kindest and open-hearted person. We dearly loved her and enjoyed the time we took her to Dutch Apple dinner theater and spending time talking with her at baseball. We already missed her but will miss her more!
Condolences to everyone in Janet’s family. Her bright light will shine in Heaven!

Janet was one of the sweetest ladies you could meet. I worked with her at Donnelley and will always remember her kindness when I fell and shattered my ankle and was homebound. She and Betty brought me groceries and checked on me. I’ll always remember going to New York City with her on a Donnelley Club trip, after she hurt her leg. We took turns pushing her wheelchair & had many laughs. Always smiling and loved to laugh. The obituary really captured her spirit. Rest Easy, Janet. Cerri Shelton
