Janet H. Ziegler, 90
Janet H. Ziegler, 90, died at her home in Landisville on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Born in Landisville, she was the daughter of the late Addison Habecker and Ruth Habecker Derr, and stepdaughter of the late John C. Derr. She was the widow of the late C. Richard Ziegler who died in 1977.
Janet graduated from Mount Joy High School, Class of 1939, where she was awarded for her perfect attendance all through school. She also won several awards as a marksman on the shooting team. Janet worked as a line supervisor at Schick, Inc. until the plant closed in 1979. She enjoyed deep sea fishing, going on cruises and to the beach, playing bingo and attending senior citizens events. Janet loved spending time with her family and she was an animal lover.
Janet is survived by 4 children, Barry R., husband of Flo Ziegler, Willow Street, Kathy J. Ziegler-Pham, Landisville, Robin E., wife of Michael Suess, Landisville and Richard A. Ziegler, Lancaster, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three special people in her life, Barbara Taylor and Gail Holmberg, whom she considered to be her daughters, and her close friend of 50 years Ardelle Stuart. Janet was preceded in death by her son Robert B. Ziegler in 2004, her sister Dorothy Chapin in 2010 and her grandson Jeffrey Ziegler in 2012.
A Graveside Service, with the Rev. Michael S. Troop officiating, will take place 11 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Henry Eberle Cemetery, Marietta Ave., Mount Joy, PA. Please omit flowers.
