Jane O’Hara Larkin, 92

Jane O’Hara Larkin, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 4, 2025 at age 92. Born in Bronx NY on August 17, 1932, she grew up in nearby Pelham, NY. She was married to Robert Leon Larkin for 68 years. She was the daughter to Thomas Leo O’Hara Sr., born in St. Cecile, Quebec, and Mabel Sheridan from Fitchburg, Mass. She was a graduate of Pelham Memorial High School in Pelham NY in 1950 where she played on the volleyball, basketball, and field hockey teams. Jane graduated from St. Elizabeth College, Morristown, NJ in 1954 earning a bachelor’s degree in business with honors and was All-State (New Jersey) for field hockey.

She married Robert Larkin in Pelham in May 1956 and she is survived by their five sons: Robert J. Larkin, (MD) of Manchester, NH; Thomas P. Larkin married to Kathleen Ward of Lancaster, PA; James M. Larkin, married to Jean Sussmann of Yardley, PA; Gregory V. Larkin of Lancaster, PA, and William P. Larkin, married to Margaret Sloan of Greenwich, CT and six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by two sons, David and Stephen.

Jane Larkin lived in Darien CT for 27 years from 1972 to 1999 and worked as a secretary for Continental Can for 13 years, and as a bookkeeper for an advertising firm for 10 years. She was a devout Catholic and served on the Parish Council, taught Sunday School, and was a Stephen Minister, a Eucharistic Minister and a RCIA sponsor. An avid needle-pointer, she made many tapestries as well as hundreds of woolen hats and blankets that she donated to charity over many years. In retirement, Jane moved to Lancaster PA in 1999 and enjoyed going on cruises and playing competitive bridge with her husband, achieving the rank of a Silver Life Master.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Friday. Interment will be private in St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
