James “Jim” A. Eckenroth, Jr., 81

James A. Eckenroth, Jr., age 81, passed away on May 23, 2024. Born in Lebanon, PA., he was the son of the late James A. and Martha A. (Brightbill) Eckenroth, Sr.

Jim was a devout long-time member and eucharistic minister at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus Santa Maria Assembly and past Grand Knight at Lancaster Council 867 and also involved in the Knights of Columbus Council 6810. Jim was a member of the Men of Malvern. Jim was a financial director for Lancaster County. In his free time, he loved watching the Phillies and Eagles, Grand Prix racing, and road cycling.

Jim is survived by his wife Phyllis L. Eckenroth; his daughters: Donna Eckenroth, Mary Chris “Chrissie” Enck (wife of Chad); his grandchildren: Dillan J. Enck (husband of Samantha), Nathanial L. Enck (husband of Alanna) and Caleb A. Enck; 2 great grandchildren; his step children: Lisa Mattiace (fiancé of Martin Bloomberg) and Michael Mattiace (husband of Bobbi); his step grandchildren: Joseph, Jenna Phillip, Landon, and Kylie; his nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Janet (Long) Eckenroth; an infant daughter Anna Elizabeth Eckenroth; and his siblings: Rose Marie Barry and Christine Gardiner.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. 17543 with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 30, 2024 at 11am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601 with a viewing one hour prior. Burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lebanon, PA.
