August 08, 2025

James A. “Jim” Dietrich, 64, of East Petersburg, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Hospice and Community Care of Mount Joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Dear Brenda,
We offer our deepest sympathies in the loss of Jim and lift you up in our prayers during this time of grieving. Jim had a remarkable testimony of all the Lord did in his life and shared the love of Jesus freely with others. I’m sure the Lord used Jim’s testimony and love to bring others into the Kingdom of Heaven. It was always very evident how much he loved and treasured you as the love of his life. May you feel the loving arms of Jesus comforting you in the days ahead as you mourn the loss of Jim.
Love & Prayers,
Eric & Darlene Kronawetter

Jim was a lovely man and good friend. We patronized my Barber Shop in East Petersburg for man years. Always spoke about the love he held for his family. And also his place at the beach. You will be missed greatly my friend…fly high and watch over us all!

Although Uncle Jim and I didn’t know very much about one another until shortly before my Dad George passed away, we quickly became acquainted with one another. A “tag you’re it” conversation about every two weeks or so made it easy for us to come to love one another. Uncle Jim taught me a lot about my Dad’s side of the family that my Dad never spoke of, the good and the not as good, however I learned a lot from him about them.  He also put me in touch with my Aunt Dottie, who I used to call Aunt Dorothy when I was a child, reminded me that I had grown up and was allowed to call her Dottie now. Uncle Jim opened his heart to many people and was there for you whenever you needed him. He was there for me during a few hard times in my life and I truly felt blessed to have him in my life. My wish for him is that he find again his family and friends that he lossed on his journey through life, and they embrace him with open arms, so all will be good again. Brenda has been his wife, his heart, and probably the reason he wanted to become a better man. Although her loss of him is heavy, the good times they shared for 20+years together out number these sad times. Everyone, keep looking up and smiling because you know he’s smiling down on you. Goodbye for now Uncle Jim. I will miss you.
