J. Dennis Perry, Sr., 75

J. Dennis Perry, Sr., 75, of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Conestoga View.

He was the husband of Donna L. Byers Perry, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage this past June 19th. Born in West Jefferson, NC, he was the son of the late Wiley and Sallie Shaw Perry.

Dennis had been a truck driver for 36 years, until his retirement in 1992. He had driven for Schuster’s Trucking Company and North Penn Transportation over the years.

He enjoyed bluegrass music, deep sea fishing in his younger years, and had great mechanical talent, restoring his 1955 Ford Fairlane.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: James Jr married to Luise Perry of Manheim, Brian Perry married to Noelle McElhenny of Conestoga, Cheryl Perry of Conestoga, Tammy Perry of Lancaster, and Gerald Bare of Tampa, FL; 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and his brother, Donald married to Annise Perry of Rising Sun, MD. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dayna Germer and his grandson, Jacob Perry.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 6-7PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA, with the Memorial Service to follow at 7PM.
