Homer L. Zeigler, 93
January 18, 2024
Homer L. Zeigler, 93, of Willow Street peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024. He was born to the late Charles L. and Letha P. (Shadle) Zeigler in Millersburg, PA. He graduated from Millersburg High School in the class of 1948. Homer continued his education at Bloomsburg State Teachers College, earning a BS in Education, and later at Shippensburg State College, earning a Master’s Degree in Education in 1969.
On May 19, 1951, Homer married his beloved wife, Jean, who remained by his side for an extraordinary 71 years until her passing in 2022.
Homer dedicated his professional life to education, serving as a business education teacher at various institutions, including York Springs, Millersburg, Upper Dauphin, Governor Mifflin, and PSU Berks Campus. Additionally, he served as Business Manager in the Governor Mifflin School District and the Methacton School District.
Homer was an avid reader, a passionate RVer, and an enthusiast of waterskiing, especially at Lake Wallenpaupack. The lake held a special place in his heart, where he created cherished memories with his wife, Jean, and their family. Remarkably, Homer continued to enjoy waterskiing well into his 80s. Homer was a big fan of the Phillies and the Flyers, taking great pleasure in watching their games and cheering for them through their ups and downs.
Most importantly, Homer was dedicated to his faith and was a wonderful husband to Jean. Additionally, he was a loving, supportive, and dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his children Diane Grande (Peter) of Phoenixville, Stephen Zeigler (Connie) of Hazleton, Michael Zeigler (Barbara) of Harrisburg, and Pamela Weeber (Richard) of Lancaster. Homer leaves behind a loving legacy through his grandchildren Jon, Tim, Jason, Amy, Jennifer, Katie, Sarah, Brad, Lexi, and Chris, as well as his great-grandchildren Lily, Sophie, Ava, Joshua, Camryn, Isabelle, Theo, Nathan, Anneliese, Mikko, Kiera, Charlotte, Lucas, Kayce and baby Weeber #3 expected this spring.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation and funeral service on January 26, 2024, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 600 Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA. Visitation will commence at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Homer will find his final resting place alongside Jean at Old Bethany Cemetery in Ephrata.

I am so sorry for the loss of your father/grandfather. My brother, Bob Kauffman, has lived at Willow Valley for a year & he and Homer ate dinner together sometimes. I always enjoyed talking to him about the Phillies. He was such a pleasant man, with a great smile. We will miss seeing him at Willow Valley. It certainly sounds like he had a life well-lived, surrounded and loved by his family.
