Hipolito “Polo” Saez, 73
October 25, 2025
Hipolito Saez (Polo), 73, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his home. Born in Orovocis, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Andres Saez. Polito, affectionately known as Papi or Welo, was a laid back, genuine, loving man that enjoyed spending most of his time with his kids and grandkids. That’s what brought him the most joy.
His smile and sense of humor had a way of making everyone feel loved and at ease. He was selfless to the core — always putting the needs of others before his own and making sure everyone was okay before he even thought of himself. His love was quiet but powerful, steady and unconditional.
Family was everything to Papi. Whether it was a simple conversation, gentle advice, or sharing a meal, he cherished every moment spent with those he loved. His laughter, his stories, and the way he made everyone feel special will never be forgotten.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
Surviving are his children, Betsy Saez- Santana wife of Jesus “Pete” Santana, Marlina Saez, and Adalberto Negron, along with the mother of his children Magdalena Perez, four grandchildren- Synquess Santana, Marishia (Santana) Kerr, Malachi Santana, and Amari Balfour. A great grandchild, Salayah Pagan and a great granddaughter on the way.
Also surviving are his siblings, Leonides Santiago-Saez and Felipe Saez. Preceding him in passing are two siblings, Gloria Saez and Miguel Saez.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Politos funeral service at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street PA 17584 on Monday, November 3, 2025. at 12:00 Noon. There will be a viewing and time of visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow right after in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
“The measure of a man is not in what he has, but in how deeply he is loved — and Papi was loved beyond measure.”
