Hilda F. Demming, 89

Hilda F. Demming, 89, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Moravian Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of the late Leon R. Demming , who passed away in 1983. Born in Bath, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Lang Flemish.
Hilda had worked for many years with her husband in his family business, Sandoe Automotive Inc. of Lancaster.
She had been a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, and had been a member of the Guys and Dolls of St. John Neumann and the Rodney Park Happy Hours Club. A Worthy Matron in the Order of The Eastern Star, Hilda had been affiliated with the OES James Buchanan Chapter 315 and had been a member of the former OES Chapter 501 of Lancaster.
She had attended the former Denver High School, and enjoyed traveling, word searches, dining out and shopping. A generous person by nature, she was compassionate to others and always had a wonderful sense of humor.
Hilda is survived by her son, Allen married to Joann Demming of Lancaster, her 2 grandchildren: Tracey married to Fred Shellhammer and Douglas Demming, by her great-grandchild, Dylan Demming and his mother, Jennifer Davis. She is also survived by her sisters, all of Denver: Irene Mellinger, Florence Rutt, and Dorothy Lied. She was preceded in death by her siblings: John and Frank Flemish Jr., Mary Hummel, and Margaret Sensenig.
