Henrietta Jane Baker, 80
December 15, 1943 - December 26, 2023
Henrietta Jane Baker of Lancaster passed away at home on December 26, 2023. Jane shared 42 years of marriage with her husband Claude.
Born in Allentown, PA, Henrietta was the daughter of the late Richard Earl Jarrett, Sr. and the late Pauline (Waltz, Resh) Lutz.
Jane worked for 27 years at the downtown Lancaster Watt & Shand Department Store as the sales manager of the candy and stationary department. She later worked as a counter clerk for Clean Enterprises for 15 years.
Jane was a loving wife and mother. She tenderly cared for her husband Claude who preceded her in death on October 20, 2022. Jane and Claude enjoyed vacations throughout the United States. She was a faithful Christian and a prayer warrior who loved and served her savior Jesus Christ. Her favorite parting phrase to friends and family was, “One day at a time sweet Jesus.” Jane and her husband had attended Calvary Church.
Jane is survived by her daughter Victoria Lynn Rueppel, wife of David of Enola; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step-sisters – Sandra, wife of Neil Warfel, Linda Heller, Jackie Boerner, Pamela Dotson, Cheryl Jarrett, and Melanie, wife of John Seiple; a stepbrother Renneth Jarrett; and 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Earl Jarrett Jr. and a stepbrother Robert Jarrett.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the new section of Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, located behind the church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
