Helen G. Evanko, 90
Helen Genevieve (Rang) Evanko, 90, of 100 Overlook Ave., Lancaster, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Saturday morning, June 24, 2006.
Born in Littlestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Rang.
For many years, she volunteered to work with the Dominican Nuns of the Perpetual Rosary Monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Lancaster. Helen was a devoted member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
She was married for 63 years to George Evanko, who died just 5 months ago. Surviving are her 4 sons and daughters-in-law; George P. and family of Newtown Square, Paul J. and family of Harrisburg, Stephen M. and family of Pequea, and Michael T. and family of Elizabethtown. She also had a special bond with grandsons Kenneth and George. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
Helen will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord Jesus and Mary. Her family always came first and she will be remembered for her wit, quick smile, and graciousness.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 11AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Friends may be received at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, on Monday, June 26, from 7-9PM with a rosary recited at 8:30PM, and again on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30AM at the funeral home.
