Hazel M. Helms, 82

Hazel M. Helms, 82, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Milton H. and Clara E. (Slicer) Bemis. She was the loving husband of the late William H. “Bill” Helms who passed away in 2021.

She worked for the former Hamilton Watch, Bulova and L-3 before retiring after 31 years of service.

Hazel was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ in Lancaster where she served in the church choir.

She is survived by her children: Sharon Lewis and Kimberly L. Groff wife of Bob, both of Lancaster. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian S. Helms, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the funeral home on Monday.
