Harold F. Baker, 92, of Millersville passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025. Born on April 26, 1933, in Bedford, PA, Harold was the son of the late Millard and Pearl Baker.
He proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant from 1950 to 1953, earning bronze stars, the occupation medal (Japan) and the Korean Service medal.
Following his service, Harold began a dedicated career as a truck driver with Yellow Freight. He spent decades on the road, taking pride in his work and providing for his family, before retiring in 1998.
In 1957, Harold married the love of his life, Mary Jane Baker. Over their 67 years together, they built a strong and joyful life rooted in family. Harold was a loving husband, a supportive father, and a proud grandfather who played an active role in helping raise his grandchildren, Amanda “Mandy” Baker and Eric Baker.
Harold was known for his quick wit, bold honesty, and playful sense of humor. He loved to tease and joke with those closest to him, always bringing laughter into the room. He had a passion for cars, especially buying them, and enjoyed country music, westerns, and long Sunday drives. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was a loyal fan of the Phillies, the Steelers, and Penn State football.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Baker of Millersville; his son, Dennis Baker and daughter-in-law Kimberly Baker, also of Millersville; and his grandchildren, Amanda “Mandy” Baker and Eric Baker. His memory will live on through the love and laughter he shared with each of them.
Harold’s warm heart, sharp humor, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a veterans’ organization of your choice.
