H. Robert Kaufhold, 75
H. Robert “Bob” Kaufhold, 75, of Lancaster, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in his residence.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Herman Rudolph and Rosine (Oswald) Kaufhold.
Bob received his B.S. degree in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College, and his Master’s from Drexel University, also in Accounting. He worked for a number of years as an accounting professor at Franklin & Marshall and at Penn State University.
He was a member of the Lancaster County Penn State Alumni Association and Lancaster Liederkranz.
Bob enjoyed volunteering his time in the pharmacy of Lancaster General Hospital. He loved going to the Community Market and Root’s, and spending time at the Jersey shore with his family. He was an avid coin collector.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Robert Kaufhold of Hummelstown; a daughter, Jana Keck and her husband Bill of Lancaster; and four grandchildren: Zachary and Hannah Kaufhold and Alec and Michelle Keck. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Robert Kaufhold, and a brother, Harry Kaufhold.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA with Pastor Mark Thiboldeaux officiating. Burial will follow in Conestoga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Please omit flowers. I had the pleasure of serving with Bob on the Penn State board for over 12 years. I will remember him as being friendly,positive,and a hard-working volunteer on most all projects. He was truly a NICE man that will be missed!

We are so sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. He was a terrific man and we had lots of fun together on many Lancaster Penn State Alumni projects thru the years. We also loved running into him at Root’s or Central Markets. He will be missed greatly.

We send our sympathy and prayer thought to Bob’s family. I (Helen) worked with him at Penn State, The Lancaster Center, when he was an adjunct instructor. I also volunteered with Bob when I was on the Scholarship Committee, and we were both ‘money changers’ at the Ice Cream sale. Glenn and I both served as Board Presidents, too. He loved his beer and snacks. Talked with him briefly at the March board meeting. Take care, please, and know the board of PSU Lancaster is thinking of you.
