Guillermo Alvarado, 81, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025.
Born on June 20, 1943, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Guillermo was the son of the late Guillermo Alvarado and Antonia Alvarado. A hard-working and dedicated man, Guillermo built a career as a machinist and was employed by NTN, formerly known as Federal-Mogul Automotive.
He married the love of his life, Carmen Alvarado, and together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage. Guillermo was a man of simplicity and quiet strength. After long 16-hour workdays, he found comfort in people-watching from the porch or garage and listening to Spanish music. He especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Guillermo is survived by his son, Guillermo “Will” Alvarado husband of Sherrie; his stepdaughter, Ivonne Torres Ortiz, wife of Juan; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Elica Alvarado, Marta Alvarado, and Isabel Alvarado.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Alvarado; his parents, Guillermo and Antonia Alvarado; and his son, Javier Alvarado.
In accordance with Guillermo’s wishes there will be no formal services. He will be laid to rest alongside his son at Riverview Cemetery at the convenience of family
