Gladys Yvonne “Vonnie” Bleacher, 82

Gladys Yvonne “Vonnie” Bleacher, 82, of Mountville, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at her residence.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond V. and Gladys V. (Breneman) Doerr.

Vonnie worked as a bookkeeper for Manor Township Municipal office for 30 years, where she was known for her hard work and kindness. She was a member of Hempfield Church and she was a past member of the former Highville Fire company ladies auxiliary. She had a passion for crafts, especially making Christmas ornaments and sequin calendars. One of her greatest joys was spending time at the cabin she and her husband built in Sullivan County. Vonnie was an avid NASCAR fan, and one of her fondest memories was attending a race in Talladega. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Davina (Brad) Weinoldt; her sister, Karen Hostetter; grandchildren, Thomas Jenkins, Brandon Weinoldt, Brittany Favinger, and Jennifer Rote; six great-grandchildren; and her kitty, Layla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David E. Bleacher; and sisters, Faye Breneman and Sharon Doerr.

Friends and family will be receiving from 11AM to 12PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Hempfield Church, 3050 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601. A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 12PM. Burial will take place in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia.
