Gina M. Hill, 91

Gina M. (DiTecco) Hill, 91, of Manheim, died on November 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 24, 1932, in Lansford, PA, she was the devoted wife of Thomas E. Hill, Sr. until his passing in 2005. They were married for 53 years at the time of his passing.
Gina was the daughter of Domenick and Maria (Micaletti) DiTecco, who immigrated to America via Ellis Island in 1911.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Deceased siblings Nicholas, Elvino and Massimo DiTecco.
She is survived by her children Thomas E. (Deborah) Hill, Jr., Manheim; Maria (Greg) Nauman, Lancaster; Sandra Sills, West Hempfield Township; Regina Pope, Fredericksburg, and Patricia (Roger) Alleman, Harrisburg. Gina was preceded in death by her son, Larry Hill in 1975 and grandsons Larry Sills in 2013 and Chris Shambaugh 2014.
She is survived by grandchildren Cynthia Jackson, Michelle (fiancé Steve) Hill, Dustin Shambaugh, Kelly (fiancé Sterling) Shambaugh, Amanda (Bryan) Everhart, David (Jackie) Nauman, Daniel (Jennifer) Sills and Matthew (Charissa) Alleman. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Gina’s parents were first generation Italians from Citta San’Angelo, in the Abruzzi region and she was very proud of her Italian heritage. She got in touch with her father’s relatives thirty years after his death. Gina along with her husband and family members visited the Italian relatives numerous times over the years. Gina is survived by many cousins in Italy.
Gina graduated from Lansford High School in 1950. She was a school bus driver for CAIU for 18 years.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim, PA. She was a member of Seven Sorrows BVM Catholic Church, Middletown, Pa. for 43 years before moving to Lancaster County.
Nothing meant more to Gina than her loving family, whom she cherished above all else. One of her greatest joys was eating out, especially breakfast with her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Pleasant View of Manheim, skilled nursing unit for their care and support over the last eight months and Compassus hospice care, Lancaster.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at 10:30 AM and the funeral Mass at 11:30 AM, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 N. Oak Street, Manheim, Pa. 17545 with The Rev. Stephen D. Weitzel, as Celebrant. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 116 S. Oak Grove Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17112
