My heartfelt condolences to George’s family and friends for the loss of a very obviously dedicated and committed family and community man.  I never personally met George and am sorry I never had the pleasure.  The memories of those he loved and who loved him will not be the only markers of George’s incredible legacy.  Some few engineers may have a bridge or a car or a building they could call “theirs”, as some monument to their life’s work. George’s work has been used by thousands of engineers worldwide: creating, inventing, designing, building – quietly solving little and large problems that make the world a better place. Every. Single. Day. For decades.  George’s skill, passion, care and attention-to-detail may not be obvious to those unfamiliar with Femap – but for those of us who use it, George’s work will always be a shining testament to a great man. He will be sorely missed, even by those of us who never met him.

I am deeply saddened to learn of George’s passing. He was an exceptional colleague, and even though my interactions with him were limited, the impact he had on me was profound. George always went above and beyond to lend a helping hand, and his guidance and support made a significant difference in my work.
His absence will undoubtedly be felt in the workplace, as he was not just an indispensable colleague but also a caring and nurturing human being who mentored many of us in the team.
My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family. May you find strength and solace during this difficult time!

He was an amazing person and someone who I admired greatly.  The world will miss him.  These words come to me from Norman Maclean’s book A River Runs Thru It: “Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. I keep hearing George and Marianne laugh. Their joy was mine to share on our fishing adventures, I’ve rarely met such a joyous couple. It was an honor to continue that relationship with George, we fished together days before his passing with Joe along for the trip. I’ll dearly miss these two beautiful people.
